Boone Hall Plantation wedding, Charleston SC | Hannah and Tyler

A scene straight out of a southern fairytale, Hannah and Tyler, met for their “first look” under the famous Avenue of Oaks, leading to Boone Hall Plantation. “The three-quarters of a mile of two hundred and seventy-year-old giant live oaks draped with Spanish moss is one of the most breathtaking wonders of nature anywhere in the world.” So much so, the iconic movie “The Notebook,” from Nicholas Spark’s bestselling novel, set the scene for the romantic love affair of Noah and Allie.

Rustic romance with a touch of modern glamour is the best way to describe this dreamy day in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The color palette of pastel tones such as peach, gold, and blush with buckets of crisp white roses added the perfect amount of softness to the venue. Through the magnificent gates at Boone Hall Plantation stands the oldest estates in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

With family and friends gathered around, the sweet couple spoke their vows to one another under the historically restored pavilion off of the cotton dock. Sheer drapery framed the ceremony setting overlooking the calm creek, which flows through the vast property, and clusters of eucalyptus adorned each antique cross back chair.

At the seated dinner reception, champagne was flowing under the stars and the suspended floral arrangements created by the fabulous Coastal Creations Floral Design. The couple had their first dance under a large sparkling chandelier, and light bouncing over the dance floor made for a romantic scene straight from a movie.

The feminine aesthetic paired perfectly with the modern touches. The traditional paper suite replaced the conventional options with a sleek and contemporary alternative – acrylic menus and signage, including a neon sign which spelled out the couple’s joint last name in a romantic calligraphy font.

A glittery arch of sparklers glamorously guided the couple from the historic venue to their getaway car just as the evening was coming to an idyllic ending.
